Funds were raised from a parking lot sale put on by staff members of Legacy to benefit the children’s group.

Last Friday, Legacy Dental Group honored the ABC Room by giving a check for over $2,300 to Karen Forrester, the ABC Room president. The funds were raised from a parking lot sale put on by staff members of Legacy to benefit the children’s group. Dr. Gerard Macy explained, “This year, our staff told us they wanted to do something special by partnering up with the ABC Room. So they donated their own time and garage sale items to this parking lot sale, which involved more than 25 families.”

Dr. Glenn Stern added, “This event was only one of many that our incredible staff has contributed to. They all love Karen and the good work she and her team are involved in, and the fact that all the effort goes to children in need just makes our relationship more fulfilling.”

Dr. Ben Bratcher congratulated Forrester for her hard work. “Karen has so much energy for this cause. It’s hard not to catch her enthusiasm whenever she’s around. The ABC Room serves such an important role in our community by reaching out to children in the foster care system. And at Legacy, we want to be a part of that. Dr. Stern, Dr. Macy, and I all live right here in the community. Our kids go to Canton schools. So it’s a privilege for the whole staff at Legacy to contribute to the ABC Room.”

The ABC Room, formerly known as the Rainbow Room, provides diapers, clothing, toys, and emergency resources to children as they are in the foster care system. They also help foster children of all ages in numerous life events, such as Christmas, summer camps, prom, and even emancipation showers. Find more information at the group’s Facebook page.
