Porcelain Veneers – Canton, TX
Disguise Your Teeth’s Flaws and Transform Your Smile
When you look at yourself in the mirror, do you see teeth that you’re proud to show off, or do you cringe because your smile has obvious aesthetic flaws? If the latter is true of you, you may benefit from porcelain veneers in Canton. This cosmetic treatment can quickly and dramatically transform your teeth and give you the stunning grin you’ve always wanted.
What Are Porcelain Veneers?
Porcelain veneers are ultra-thin pieces of porcelain that your cosmetic dentist in Canton permanently attaches to the fronts of your teeth. Their purpose is to disguise your smile’s imperfections and give your teeth a radiant, uniform appearance.
The dental porcelain that our lab uses to create the veneers is of the highest quality, which means you can expect it to provide an extremely natural appearance. It is also durable enough to stand the test of time; veneers can last for 10 – 15 years before they need to be replaced. The porcelain is even resistant to stains, so you’ll be able to enjoy all of your favorite dark foods and beverages (in moderation, of course) without worrying about marring your smile’s appearance.
What Issues Can Veneers Fix?
Porcelain veneers can fix a number of cosmetic flaws in teeth, including:
- Minor gaps
- Minor crookedness
- Teeth that appear too small
Some patients choose to get just one veneer to cover a particularly unattractive tooth, while others may opt for a full set of four to eight veneers to create a total smile transformation. Veneers usually just go on the top teeth, but it is possible to place them on the bottom teeth as well.
If you would like to discover whether veneers can correct the issues that plague your unique smile, we invite you to schedule a consultation with Legacy Dental Group. One of our skilled doctors will examine your mouth, talk to you about your goals and expectations, and design a custom treatment plan that aims to give you the gorgeous grin of your dreams.
What Is the Process for Placing Veneers?
We often recommend that patients have their teeth whitened before they receive veneers. Since the porcelain won’t respond to bleaching products, it’s best to make sure that the surrounding teeth are the desired color before the veneer procedure. Thus, we can ensure that your smile maintains a uniform appearance.
Following any preliminary work, the process for placing veneers usually happens across two appointments. During the first appointment, we prepare the teeth by removing a sliver of enamel from them; this step helps to ensure that the veneers do not look bulky or unnatural. Then, we take detailed images and impressions of the teeth, which our in-house lab will then use to create your custom veneers.
While you’re waiting for your custom veneers to be finished, you’ll wear a temporary cover on your teeth to protect them. When you return to our office for your second appointment, we’ll make any necessary final adjustments to the veneers before we permanently attach them to your teeth. Following your procedure, your teeth may be more sensitive than usual, but any discomfort should dissipate within a few days.
