Are you hiding your smile due to gapped, crowded, or otherwise “crooked” teeth? It’s time to find a solution — life is short, but it’s too long to live with imperfect teeth. With Invisalign in Canton, your dentist can help you realign your smile without the need for visible metal wires and brackets. It’s a comfortable, convenient, and, best of all, discreet alternative to traditional orthodontia!
How Does Invisalign Work?
Invisalign works the same way as traditional braces — it overhauls your bite by placing focused pressure on different teeth throughout treatment. The only difference is it uses clear plastic aligners instead of visible hardware to do so. These trays are removable and practically invisible, so you can continue to eat what you like, and even slip them out to look your best during big meetings or important introductions.
The trays are customized to your unique dentition, each one designed to progressively reposition your teeth. You’ll wear each tray for two weeks before moving on to the next one in the treatment, gradually progressing your way to your new, beautiful smile.
Invisalign vs. Traditional Braces
Adults and older teens greatly prefer the ease, comfort, and privacy of Invisalign braces. Compared to the metal variety, Invisalign offers…
- Convenience: Remove the trays and eat what you like without worrying you’ll pop off a bracket or break a wire.
- Improved oral health: Because brushing and flossing are just as easy as before, you don’t have to learn any tricky maneuvering to clean around metal braces.
- Independance: Compared to traditional braces, Invisalign is a largely self-directed treatment; simply switch to a new aligner every two weeks and attend an Invisalign appointment with your dentist every six weeks.
- Comfort: Smooth plastic is unlikely to rub blisters in your soft oral tissues.
A Day In the Life With Invisalign
7:00 am: Remove your trays to eat breakfast and drink your coffee. Hot temperatures will warp the plastic. Brush them and your teeth thoroughly before putting them back in.
10:00 am: Big meeting? Slip the trays out and speak with confidence — just make sure you put them back in as soon as possible. You need to wear the trays the recommended 20 to 22 hours each day to progress through your treatment without any delays.
12:00 pm: Remove the trays before lunch, then brush them and your teeth before reinserting. Do a thorough job — and leftover food particles or bacteria could become trapped against the enamel and accelerate decay.
5:00 pm: Happy hour! Remove your trays before drinking anything (except water).
8:00 pm: Slip the trays out before dinner and relax as you watch an episode (or four) of your favorite TV show.
11:00 pm: Time for bed! Remove your trays and brush and floss your teeth. Reinsert your trays and sleep soundly, one day closer to your new, beautiful smile.
